Nolvadex is an oral medicine that can be taken with food or without food. But take the drug with water or any non-alcoholic liquid. The drug should only be swallowed as it has to be released slowly into the body.

Once the doctor has started the dosage, you should not give up unless your doctor has asked for it. The doctor may prescribe Nolvadex for very long years.

Never compensate for the missed dose. In case you have forgotten a dosage of Nolvadex, leave it and continue with your regular dosage.

Before Nolvadex is scribbled for you, the doctor should have to know all about your health. Inform the doctor if you are having high levels of calcium, history of blood clots, high cholesterol/lipid levels, low white blood cell number, weak immune system, low platelet counts and vision problems. The doctor may not prescribe Nolvadex or he may change the dosage if you have any of the above conditions.

As the drug can cause harm to the foetus, it is better not to get pregnant while you are taking Nolvadex drug. Though the effect of the drug is not known in newborn babes, breast-feeding women should not take the drug without contacting the doctor.

The drug should not be taken if you are using Cytotoxic cancer drugs, Anticoagulants, Fluorouracil, mitomycin C, Rifampin and Aromatase inhibitors.

Avoid bruising and getting in contact with persons who have infections while taking, Nolvadex.
