Synthroid is used for the treatment of hypothyroidism
Synthroid tablet is used for the treatment of hypothyroidism and also goitre that has been developed by hormone imbalances, cancer, radiation treatment or surgery.
The tablet should be taken in empty stomach in the morning. Take the drug with a full glass of water. Once you are under Synthroid medication, never deviate from your prescription. For better results, the right dose should have to be taken at the right time. But if by any problem, a dosage is missed, take the missed one as you realise it. However, it is advised not to take the missed drug if your scheduled time is near. Never mix two doses of Synthroid as it can only increase the risk of side effects.
Before the Synthroid drug is prescribed, the doctor should have an idea about your overall health condition. He should have to know if you have any allergies such as hives, breathing difficulty and swelling (mouth, face, lips, tongue, throat). The doctor should also be aware if you have any of the following conditions: diabetes, coronary artery problems, heart diseases, anaemia and adrenal/ pituitary gland problems.
Pregnant women and breast-feeding mothers can have Synthroid as the drug does deliver any harm to the unborn or the newborn babes.
One thing that should have to taken note is that you should never miss the lab tests as the doctor needs to continuously monitor the blood, liver, kidney heart and kidney conditions.
Synthroid also comes with many allergic reactions and also various side effects.
